"I highly recommend Monteros Hardwood Flooring. They refinished the hardwood floors at our Redlands home and they look new and we are extremely happy with the results. Javier communicated regularly throughout the project. His team is professional, efficient and very prompt and the work was finished in a timely manner. We are very pleased with the results and we highly recommend them."
Water-Resistant Laminate Flooring
Modern laminate with water-resistant cores - handles spills and splashes that would have ruined older laminate.
Modern water-resistant laminate is a different product from the laminate of 10 years ago. Better cores, sealed edges, and finishes that handle real life.
What "water-resistant" means
- Surface water (spills wiped within hours): no problem.
- Splashes around sinks: fine.
- Standing water for hours: not recommended - go LVP.
- Full bathroom with shower: not appropriate - go LVP or tile.
Water-resistant is real and meaningful, but it's not the same as fully waterproof.
Modern laminate construction
- HDF or compressed wood core with water-resistant treatment.
- Sealed edges that resist water ingress at seams.
- Wear-layer ratings AC4 or AC5 for residential / light commercial use.
- Click-lock edges for floating install.
Where laminate fits in 2026
- Living, dining, bedrooms, hallways - excellent.
- Kitchens with careful cooks - fine; LVP if dishwasher leaks worry you.
- Powder rooms - fine.
- Full bathrooms or laundry - skip; use LVP or tile.
Cost
$3 – $7 per sq ft installed. Often the budget-friendly choice for whole-house installs in dry rooms.
Budget-friendly hardwood look with tough, scratch-resistant wear layers - installed fast.
